This is a great resource designed for A level students studying geography. The resource is about assessing disaster and its' impact on a community, country etc. Students could take the same type of disaster and look at its' impact in two different places in the world. This could lead to questions such as, how does poverty affect a country's ability to cope in a disaster?
This could then be used as a tool for introducing the concept of Disaster Risk Reduction and Management. Students could go on to look at how countries and NGOs prepare for disasters.
